Minnesota Xplosion take 1st in Forest Lake

In the first tournament of the new year, the Minnesota Xplosion, formally Champlin Xplosion, finished with a 1st place medal.

In the first game vs. Irondale-White, Jordan Reibling was high scorer with 16.  Dillon Hager had 11 and Brandon Marquardt chipped in 10.  After getting off to a slow start, the game turned quickly into a very fast paced game and was over early.  Final score was 60-37.

The second game of the day was vs. White Bear Lake.  Xplosion started right where they left off in the previous game, running fast and getting out to a quick lead.  The defense was a bit tighter as we held WBL to a final score was 61-27.  High scorer was Brent Walker with 16, Jordan Reibling with 12 and Josh Pella with 11.

The Championship game on Sunday was against Irondale-White.  Again, Xplosion came out strong and had a 10 point lead early.  The game became a battle from that point on as Irondale continued to try chipping away at Xplosion's lead.  Fortunately for Xplosion, we were able to answer each of their mini runs.  In the final few minutes of the game, Xplosion had a few forced turnovers, unforced turnovers and missed free throws that opened the door allowing Irondale the opportunity to tie the game with a three pointer but the shot missed.  Final score was 52-49, Xplosion.  High scorer was Brent Walker with 16, Jordan Reibling with 13 and Dillon Hager with 9.
